Cooking has been the heartbeat of our family for generations. It began with our mother, Samira — Sam — whose kitchen was a sanctuary for friends and neighbors alike.
Watching how her soulful dishes brought unbridled happiness to others inspired us to share that warmth with the world. As her son, I, Dhamir, carried Samira’s cherished recipes and culinary spirit with me, eventually recognizing that our community longed for authentic comfort food made with genuine intention.
Together with my sister Zoey, we transformed our family tradition into Sammy Dhoe’s. Named for Samira, Dhamir, and Zoey, our restaurant is a tribute to the belief that real soul food is born from premium ingredients and, above all, a mother’s love. Every plate we serve carries a piece of our history and a promise of comfort.
“Everybody can make food look good, but not taste good.”
